ArchivalResource

Ghirardelli family genealogical miscellany, 1921-2002.

Consists of miscellaneous genealogical information on members of the Ghirardelli Family collected by Polly Ghirardelli Lawrence, and later by her son Sidney Smith Lawrence III. Information on most of the family members consists of the location and a photograph of their gravesite in Mountain View Cemetery (Oakland, Calif.), and a National Genealogical Society Members' Ancestor Chart. A few members are more completely represented by photographs, clippings, and ephemera. The most extensive material was collected on Domingo Ghirardelli, Sr., Polly's immediate family, including Alfred Ghirardelli, Sidney Lawrence III and Clarissa Lawrence Watson, as well as Angela Ghirardelli Jorgensen, and her husband Chris Jorgensen. Includes information on Henry T. Legler, and Mrs. James Wallace Orr, parents of Ghirardelli in-laws, Ghirardellis in Italy, and people who associated themselves with the family under false pretences, or "Ghirardelli knock-offs". Also includes miscellany, such as promotional material and clippings, relating to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company and Ghirardelli Square.
